Google Public Sector, in partnership with the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Carahsoft Technology Corporation, and 11 independent software vendors, announced the launch of a specially curated Google Cloud Marketplace as part of the NIH’s Science and Technology Research Infrastructure for Discovery, Experimentation, and Sustainability (STRIDES) initiative. Aiforia is one of the featured vendors at the Marketplace and the only one offering AI-based solutions for image analysis.

The NIH STRIDES initiative is a long-term collaboration with Google Cloud and other cloud service providers, designed to build a nationwide biomedical research ecosystem. This initiative offers researchers access to advanced computing resources, data, and tools to support their work. Through the "NIH STRIDES Google Cloud Marketplace," researchers and scientists can easily browse, acquire, and implement cloud-based tools and services from Google Cloud partners, helping to speed up their research and discoveries. The NIH STRIDES Google Cloud Marketplace offers discounted rates to eligible researchers, leveraging Carahsoft’s Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) contract in support of the NIH STRIDES initiative.

“We are excited to be a part of the NIH STRIDES initiative and to help researchers make the most of our advanced AI development tool. Aiforia®️ Create has been designed especially for pathologists and scientists aiming to make discoveries from image data and to open new avenues based on quantitative information. This marketplace opens us a new channel to reach the leading research community in the US,” says Jukka Tapaninen, CEO of Aiforia.

NIH issues annual grants to academic universities, hospitals, small businesses, and other organizations throughout the U.S. and internationally.  In 2023, NIH awarded 11,052 research project grants with USD 25,365 billion. The average size of research project grants was USD 609,790.
