How long have you been at Aiforia, and what do you do?
I joined Aiforia in mid-January 2022 so I've now been an Aiforian for almost 2 months. I'm working as the team lead in our integrations team, meaning that I'm responsible for a little bit of everything. My responsibilities include e.g. coordinating the team, meeting with clients, handling different administrative tasks, agile project management, as well as writing code and developing our software.
Our team's main focus is on integrating Aiforia's cloud software with various hospital- and laboratory information systems. These integrations play a key role in enabling pathologists around the world to access our deep learning AI software, which underlines the importance of the work our team is doing. It's great to be part of this bunch of people!
How was your experience first joining Aiforia and your team at the company?
I was very warmly welcomed to Aiforia and everyone has been super helpful since day one. What I especially value in Aiforia is its culture of low hierarchy and openness, as well as the company's ambitious goals in transforming the fields of digital pathology and clinical diagnostics. Also, the technical competence of our people is on a really high level, so there is a lot to learn from everyone here.
What is your favorite part about your job?
I'm a people-person above all else, so meeting new people, solving difficult (technical) challenges, and understanding the big picture are what I get most excited about.
What's your most memorable moment while working at Aiforia?
This has to be Aiforia's Laskiainen (also known as the mid-winter sliding festival), organized by our lovely Aiforian Recreational Committee (ARC). It was probably the funniest company event I've attended so far and for sure the only one that included sledding and playing football on ice with coworkers.
What do you do for fun?
I enjoy doing sports in all formats: Floorball, Padel, Running, Gym, Tennis, Golf, Snowboarding, just to name a few. Currently, my main focus is on training for a full marathon that is taking place in Stockholm next summer. In addition to doing sports, I also enjoy slow mornings (with good breakfast & coffee included), reading books, and spending time with friends and family.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
This is a tough one since I'm quite an open person so there aren't many secrets that I hold. Maybe one thing that probably not so many know is that when I was a kid, my dream was to live in Sweden and be a professional floorball player.
